I remember the day I discovered newsprings church through going to there annual unleashed convention with the rock church. It was awesome and can’t wait to go back again in 2010. Here is both videos from the event. It was cool seeing how a huge church operates. And how they still manage to love on every single person even those they have a gazillion members!

Day Six
Got up ate breakfast, got clothes washed by an awesome lady at the orphanage. We ate heading for some fun today to Montumbo. We had a day of rest today. Went to Montumbo, saw a coffee plantation, the mountain with live Monkeys and Sloths. We ate at a nice restaurant which had awesome cake. The food
was crazy cheap. We had a 3 course meal for about 8 bucks not fast food either.
Today was a day to reflect on what happened. I think we did a lot that will definitely change. What that made this whole trip was reaching out to —– and maybe changing his view of choosing gods best. Touch the lives of the kids in Jinotega and saw the joy that they normally don’t get to see.
This was an awesome journey and can’t wait to go back. I am going to go to take some spanish classes to further my speaking ability. My goal is to have a full conversation with someone. That would be awesome.
Te Amo Peeps! Have a blessed day!
Day Five
Got up this morning and was semi ready to go to sleep as last night was alot of work. But pushed myself in getting up early. Ate some breakfast. After breakfast we helped the orphanage in Jinotega clean up the garden. I just heard a pig get murder, dinner! What was I saying. We cleaned up the weeds with machetes, hoes, and garden tools. Mike used the mower to cut their grass. It was fun to see all the scenery that was outside , the chickens that the orphanage uses for eggs and sometimes pollo. Yay organic! There were also horses and odes and pigs. The pig’s name is Christmas. Guess why? Christmas dinner! PETA is going to get me. But hey meat is good for you. We need those amino acids. Used to be vegetarian. Doesn’t work!
After tidying up the yard we had a whole day of singing, blessing, skits, and praying for the kids. This was the coolest part. The town was one of the poorest town there. And we were told to go as Sandy Carter has said that many mission teams don’t go down there. We stopped in this arena area. We gathered all the kids and spoke to them. I was able to do my testimony. It didn’t work out that well as thought. I tried to do it in Spanish but saw the kids were getting bored and changed to English. The lady said I did ok. Need to work on my Spanish. It is hard to get the kids attention.
The part that I personally though was something I was good at was just sitting down with the kids and watching the plays with them. One kid I think his name was Jarrio, would not let go of me. He laid on my side and was acting like my brother just so happy. It seems like there is not a lot of adult figures in his life as there is so many young kids around.
I was also good at praying for the kids. I got to pray for a few of them. Some we’re for there grandpas as they’re getting old and have no medicine to keep them alive, and mothers with fungus on there mouths. It was really easy to take there prayers and make good words to ask God to pray
for them. A lot of times I prayed for the kids as well saying that they are big blessing to think above themselves at a early age. To think of other people then themselves. Most kids don’t. It’s me me me in America. I used to be that till I found God.
Today was like a place in the bible where Jesus gather people of the town. It was so sareal (can’t find the write spelling). We gave out gift bags to the girls and boys. It was very well organized as everyone formed a line and there was no fighting or mass trouble. Can wait to do this everyday.
We got back to the orphanage and took a long nap! some of the team and mike went to go get paint. Enjoyed some Nicaraguan coffee. Hmmm! Then we sang some songs and did a little worship. I was then prayed for by Dan the missionary from England and Mike Bolser for my depression to see if God will heal me. It was good to see someone care for me.

Day Four
Today was an awesome day. We are staying at the orphanage in Jinotega where the younger boys and girls stay at. This place is such a blessing. The sad thing that I found out is these kids are abused physically and sexually but the government has taken them to this place which is awesome. They get counciling, fed, bible study, school, and a positive place to be in. Kind of weird (God works in weird ways) but I think it was a calling for me to come here as I had the same similar incidents happen to me from a babysitter. Don’t remember, that is what counseling does to you which is great and it is awesome that the kids get counseling as well.
Got up this morning. And think we all finally got off the jet lag sleep. We were all ready to transfer from the orphanage in Los Cedros to the one in Jinotega. We got all of our luggage packed, organized all of the gifts for the trip to Los Bracilles. Don’t know if I told you in the last blog as I received a message from God to talk to this teen that I met yesterday. The first day I met him I he was asking me if I had a girlfriend. I first told him yes because I didn’t want it to get around that I didn’t. Last time a young girl wanted to marry me so she could get out of her situation. Don’t blame her. But then I thought to be honest and I told him I don’t. He told me he did and her name was Christina I think.
That night I thought about my experience with the book “Choosings God’s Best” , if you are not familiar with the book it basically talks about be abstinence for your future wife, no dating, and if you find someone you like you are friends for awhile, then dating, then marriage. But you have to both be spiritually, mentally, and physically ready to start a relationship or it won’t last. He look very understanding of what i was talking about and it but a big smile on his face. Later that day he gave me his email and I did as well. Maybe I am a calling to minister with him through email. God works in weird ways.
We had a piñata for a kids birthday, fed the kids, ate sone iguana that tasted like chicken, played with the kid. Blessed estel Abuela’s family with money. She is a spirtually, and blessed lady that takes good care of her family of 12. We also gave sandals, and sunglasses.
Got to this orphanage after, ate, played basketball with thr kids, sang songs one in Spanish that they told us that we sang in great espanol, heard testimonies from the kids and they heard some of ours. Cried from one of the teenagers testimony’s as she was emotionally and physicslly abused by her mom. Got her hands burned fron her mom.
Great day in Nicaragua. Blessings, sadness, and fun all at the same time. Can’t wait to come back here again as Corbin wants me to do his documenting for him for his ministry. Will see, found out it is cheaper to live here then I thought. Pray for me and the group for any callings here and our trip.
Te Amo Peeps! Have a blessed day!
Day Three
Buenos Dias, Miss this place. Got up at 5:30am body thinking it is 8:30. Didn’t hear the usual roosters or the buses moving in the morning. Met and greeted with the boys and orphane babys. Met the Americans that are staying here till Dec. Friendly and blessed. Met Geovani and it was priceless seeing his smiling face as I am one of his sponsors and he is happy to see me. Gonna eat some beans and rice beans and rice.
Went to Los Bracilles today. Blessed people, colored and painted with the kids. Played soccer with the kids. Found a new friend from last time and showed him to be a good role model. Name is Issac and the way they say it. It’s a lot like my name zach and everyone was getting confused with my name. Met some old friends. Some remember me some didn’t. Had fun didn’t realize till the group came back and anylyzed our trip that we really did bless people. Found some heart breaking stories of the local kid here, Marko. I don’t know but I guess is should go there. He is great kid, dosent go to school and is always following the guy that is staying and organzing the feeding program in Los Bracilles named Corban. He sneaks in at night to get inside the feeding facility that corban stays at because his mother beats him every night. That story really touched me because people close to me have experience that. It is sad that a kid such at a small age has to go through that. And I know marko is a blessing. He is like the tiny Tim of nicaragua. Always smiling and helping out around the town. And he never looks sad. I am glad to be able to go on this trip and show the family and kids what Gods love is and it shows through them as they give it back as well 10 fold.
Te Amo Peeps! Talk to you tommorow. Have a bless day!
Day Two
Got up this morning. Finally got some sleep. Ate breakfast. Ran with nick this morning. Ready for Nicaragua, fit and feed. Waiting for the shuttle to the Greenville airport. Grrr!
Waiting for plane. Yay! Caught plane to Houston. Got off plane to Houston. Boarding to Nicaragua. Needs some gumby fuel for the 4 hour flight. Gumby if you don’t know is our term for being flexiable.
We are bording to Nicaragua. Got on a full plane. Last time there wasn’t that many people flying, this time there was. Saw several Christian groups coming aboard to bless this city. Saw one from my
home town of Omaha, NE.
Took the plane and on to Nicaragua. Watching the inflight movie
Of 17 again. It was actually good. Didn’t think a Zak Efron movie would be good and funny.
Dissapointed as I was looking forward to spending time playing the one board quiz with the fellow passangers always fun.
Lookng over the window and seen Managua at night. I am so excited. My heart is back to me again as I have left a piece of it
in Managua. Ready to spread blessings with the people of Managua.
God you are awesome giving us the opportunity to do this. I am not
rich in money and things but in faith and blessed to be well in self
Being able to go on lots of trips and bring faith, hope, love, and the list
goes on. Never thought 5 years ago I would be choosen to go his path
as a missionary. God gave what I wanted to do and made it even better
than I could think of.
Well, I am going to say “Noche Noche” and talk to you mañana.
Te Amo Peeps! Have a blessed night.
Hello bloggers,
This will be a temporary place to put the teams mission experience in words. It will soon be put on a website for donators and friends. Hope you enjoy.
Day One
Waiting for the plane. Got through security easily. Nick learn to not out liquid in his bag. Missed the lunch this morning in the gym. I forgot. Me not listening.
The plane itinerary that was given to us was for a 1:00 flight. It was wrong and our flight is at 3:25pm or so. Are we there yet!
Plane delayed to Atlanta. Waiting patiently for one more hour. Yay!
Flight got canceled. Waited for hours. Trip to Greenville to fly out of to Atlanta tommorow yay. All is good. The flight was bad to fly as the plane was going through bad storms in Atlanta. Leeanne in Nicaragua said that there wasn’t enough
for us at the orphanage anyways. It all worked out.
Going to the feeding program on Tues instead. Pray for us.
One last big serve day for the year. The rock church split up it’s connect groups into working forces to show Asheville that God really cares!
Just going through old videos and found another one. This is the big serve day my church did for Sandhill Middle School in Asheville, NC. It was a great day!
